Viewing Recordings grouped by show

I made some changes while experimenting with setup. I was thinking I was setting it up where I could go to TV shows, and it would show the shows and recordings. What I get is a recordings button in there, and when I click it, I get a list of recordings, by date. I get the same thing when I click the recording button on the left side.

So, I have no idea if there is an earlier recording, unless I scroll the list.

What sesttings do I need to set in order to see the recordings where I see a number and then open that and see the list of the recordings of that show?

Since you posted under Channels DVR Server, I assume you mean Library > TV Shows

If you're not talking about the Server, then let us know what client you're talking about.

The TV Shows section?

You can add it to your sidebar navigation and it’s always available from the Home section.

For 2 days I can’t see my previously recorded shows. I have searched all over and can’t find any way to solve this.

Sorry. I'm so new to this I'm not sure where to post.

Net: I want a way to see each show recorded, click on that and see the list of recordings of that show. Seeing a list sorted be date of what recorded on that date is not all that helpful.

I'm thinking that was there before I messed with settings.

Would help if you said where you want to see it (what client device, or the DVR web UI).

You're not providing enough information. Are you in the Channels DVR Server web admin? Are you in the Apple TV app? iOS app? Android TV app?

For what it's worth, all these provide what you want.

If you "click" on a recording, you're going to get to the recording, not the show, because...it's the recording. But almost all of the apps provide a way to get from the recording to the show it belongs too. Channels' library is hierarchical, and the browsing supports that fact.

If you want to browse all your shows, and then dig into their recordings/episodes, then you'll want to use the top level TV Shows section.

Sorry. I'm sure there are lots of wayss this could be set up.

I have Channels Dvr softward running on a mini PC which has a 2TB SSD for dvr storage. I have an Apple TV (like Roku, but Apple) with the Channels app running on it from which I watch the shows.

I thought, but could be wrong, that when I first started using the setup, that for recordings I could see what I am describing: Recordings by show, like what you see in TV shows. In the pic below, are shows, and a number in the corner. But videos is a button.
