Virtual Channel - No Option to Play Episodes

I'm running version 2023.05.19.2045 on an M1 Mac mini. I have several virtual channels set up which previously worked fine. Today they wouldn't play on AppleTV or from the Guide in Safari.

On AppleTV I received an error message when trying to play the virtual channel. I'm afraid I rebooted ChannelsDVR and neglected to take a screen shot. After the reboot, the episode plays fine on the AppleTV.

On Safari on the Mac mini running Channels DVR, The play button was missing from this screen both before and after the reboot:

If I go into Library -> TV Shows on the Mac mini, I can find the same episode as above and play it just fine.

virtual channels are not supported on the web player. yes its true, no they wont add it, reason: HLS.

its been discussed, you might be able to find a more technical reason than HLS somewhere in this forum.

Thank you. We only watch them on AppleTV, so I should have captured the error message that was on screen there before rebooting the ChannelsDVR server. I thought the missing play button in Safari might have been a symptom of the same issue, but was obviously mistaken.
