Hello Folks - First of all, I wanted to applaud the community for exchanging ideas and suggestions. It's nice to see so many others enjoying Virtual Channels. Second, let me express appreciation to the Channels DVR developers for all their hard work. It's a great product and I use it every day.
Now - for the frustrating thing that I've been trying to work out recently. - I have been using Virtual Channels for almost two years, but only recently noticed that some of my channels are not showing all episodes of a given show. I have done initial troubleshooting, to include: 1) replicating the problem on two different accounts, with two different PCs of processing power; 2) selecting both random and chronological listings; and 3) reversing the order (reverse) and returning to original order (forward).
My initial research indicates that there appears to be a hard cap limit of 200 episodes for each virtual channel. I added up the number of episodes from various shows that exceed 200 episodes. I verified that Channels can see later seasons/episodes by reversing the order, so this is not an issue with file types or naming conventions. It seems to be a hard cap limit of 200 episodes. For instance, MASH stops at Season 9 Episode 6 (but displays Seasons 10 and 11 and stops at Season 3 - in reverse order). Similar "200 and I'm done" examples were noticed with South Park and Family Guy. Those are just my best examples because they have well over 200 episodes.
I haven't found any documentation that describes this situation, but I might have missed something along the way. Does anyone have more information regarding this issue? If not, can anyone else please test this and replicate the issue?
To the developers: if there is a limit to the number of episodes, is this something that can be increased or changed in future releases?
Many thanks to everyone!
All the best.
and this just presented a slightly confusing point. Apologies for any confusion I've presented on my part. - Again, I must compliment you and the other developers on a fantastic product. Really, really worth the subscription. Thanks again for helping to clear this up.
