I’ve created 3 virtual channels containing tv shows which seem to work great with one exception. Every episode starts approximately 1-2 minutes into the episode instead of at the beginning. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Virtual channels honor a schedule. They start wherever they would if they were live channels in relation to that schedule. Do you do any pausing of episodes? Or rewinding? If you have, when the show ends and the next show starts, it will start where it is scheduled to be at that time, not at the beginning. Virtual channels do not account for such things as pauses or rewinds. They will honor their initial schedule when starting shows.
Virtual channels programs should start at the timeline and not near the beginning, or in my case randomly starting movies at the beginning. My wife loves it when it starts at the beginning, so I consider this a feature that I would hate to see fixed. I've seen this on different Android TV boxes including FireTV, and I suspect this a undocumented feature in the Android client.
Please let us know what client you are using, and if the programs have commercials as it could be a factor.
Thanks for the explanation. Perhaps I would be better served not to use virtual channels for my purpose which is via Siri Shortcuts and instead use the play show action. The only issue here is that I can’t merge shows together into a collection of sorts as the Siri shortcut command only allows for selecting a single show…
