Virtual Channels, Repeated mini-marathon section

I have a Virtual Channel of 2 shows, set to mini-marathon. But there's an odd set of 2 episodes that repeats, almost like a 3rd show set in the mini-marathon. Any ideas how to fix this?

EDIT: The Season 6 episode is matched, but shows a strange date that other items do not show. There are 2 of the same episode because one is an extended episode, so the way it is listed for other media servers is an episode level special, which just matches as an episode on CDVR. There are other episodes like this but this issue is only on this one. The Reunion special is an unmatched special.

Digging a little deeper, what those grouped items that reappeared often have in common, they were not matched. The issue is Bluray has an hour episode in Season 6 instead of a 2-part from the TV release. I think that the unmatched episodes are treated like a separate show to cycle through in the mini marathon.

Now that I have that sorted out, I've noticed the Office extras repeat often too, but it was less noticeable than before, since there are more unmatched extras. To weed them out I'm including a Smart Rule for every season >= 1 (because you can't pick season 0). I'm hoping to put extras a bumpers.

Does the Gracenote metadata have a site where we can confirm what's listed to be matched?

ah the good old back to back season finale.

I use TVDB Parks and Recreation - - Season 6 - TheTVDB.com

Im not sure about a public facing Gracenote DB. the issue is in the matching like you discovered. the Mini-marathon setting is almost treating those episodes as a different series in your rotation.

It's actually the first episode of that season that skewed the metadata, making everyone after that mismatched. I've just now learned of the fix incorrect match on the episode level, which I think is Gracenote only. Since I use pretty much every video server, I probably named the files in thetvdb for plex, but tmdb doesn't split the first episode, hence the need to check the metadata provider on what it's actually pulling from.

Yes, mini-marathon (and possibly the other options) is definitely treating unmatched as a separate series. This discovery is forcing me to clean up my virtual channels, which is good since that's a feature we use most often. Seinfeld needs to get cleaned up because all of the episode extra (tagged -featurette) matched as episodes, so there's a lot of very short episodes which I should be able to filter out with a smart rule. It is nice having the extras as bumpers, though I have to create duplicates of the files to make that happen.
