Has the function to watch a currently recording programme been removed from the Shield TV? I don't seem to be able to do this anymore.

Not sure what you mean. Are you looking at your recordings and not seeing the one you want? Does the schedule show the recording is in progress?
As I'm a programme that is currently recording. I used to get the option to watch live or watch from the start. That doesn't happen anymore it just plays it live.
Does it show up red on the guide? Is it marked with a red dot in the schedule?
Poops sorry just realised I posted this in Apple TV. It's Shield I'm talking about.
They are showing up as orange when recording.
Red dot in the schedule.
Did you click it from On Now tab or Guide tab?
