If I have recorded shows using SD DVR onto my NAS and install Channels DVR on the same NAS, can I watch shows already recorded by SD DVR? And, will it also allow me to browse to other directories on the NAS to play other files saved there?
I hope the former is possible though I certainly could understand why the latter would not be.
No, you can’t watch shows that were recorded elsewhere.
Not directly… But if you have plex, you can add both locations as libraries and use plex to get a “combined” view from both… It would be missing the sleek Channels interface… but at least you have access to your old recordings (if/as long as you like the Plex interface).
