Watching TVE recordings on Plex

I have one Nvidia Shield device, but 4 Roku's. I love Channels DVR, but the Roku app is the most basic of apps and as such not really functional. As an alternative to the expense of replacing all of my Roku's, is there a way to watch the Channels TVE recordings on plex?

The main problem I am running into after adding a plex library that points to the Channels DVR folder, some of the show descriptions for the TVE TV Shows do not make any sense. The TVE movies seem to work, but the TV Shows are just gibberish. The posters are wrong or missing, there are no descriptions, and it can span one tv show in to a weird multi-episode listings.

I should say that it does seem to playback just fine on Roku, but I can't tell what TV show is what. Has anyone discovered a method to make this work? Any idea why some shows are listed correctly and others are not? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Sounds like the plex library is not setup correctly then. Can you take a screenshot of how you set it up and what you mean by "gibberish".

Here is the screenshot. All of these were recorded from channels.

I circled the 3 areas in question. Here is what I am seeing.

  1. The DLTV recording is an episode of Americas Court with Judge Ross. Even though there is another (different) episode that is categorized correctly.

  2. The "Home Movies" are not home movies. They are movies that were recorded from Channels. They do show up correctly in plex under the Channels Movies library I setup. They are showing up here in the TV section has home movies.

3.The last one just shows as "Streaming". This is also an episode of Americas Court with Judge Ross. It is one show that is made up of a few several second 'episodes'. Notice the 209 new show marker at the top This is mainly what I meant was gibberish.

It seems that some of them of working as expected, but not all of them. Is this to be expected, or do I have something configured wrong? Thanks for taking a look.

You've added the wrong folder to your plex library. It should be pointing to B:\Channels\TV

Such a simple solution, I actually had B:\Channels and B:\Channels\TV on that library. Once I removed the B:\Channels it is now showing as expected. Thank you for the help.
