Last night we went to watch some recorded shows and on the ATV, I couldn’t tell if the shows were currently recording or had completed. While I could watch the shows in progress, we like to watch shows that are completely recorded so that we can skip commercials and not catch up to commercials.
Is there a way in the ATV UI to tell the different?

Yeah, there’s currently no indicator when browsing your recordings. That’s been a long standing issue for a while. We’ll get to it soon. I hate it too! Thanks!
