Thanks, works great now.
Logs have been improved to show the transcoder settings.
The bug causing pause/resume rapidly has been fixed. Thanks for reporting.
Iām still seeing the lower quality with hardware transcode than software. HW 720p looks worse than SW 240p
Agreed. Hardware looks pretty rough here, Software is fine.
Iām having some issues with playback using web UI (2017.01.30.2232) as well. Iām using a PR2100. It will play fine over LTE (55mbps) for a while but then stop. After it stops I canāt get it to start playing again. It will show the transcoder running and the bitrate at the bottom but with no video or sound. I switched to wifi and was able to get it to start playing. After playing on wifi for a while I turned off wifi and went back to LTE and it started to play over LTE again. I have my transcoder set to 720p @4mbps. This did not just start happening since latest update. But love love love the app overall!
Error I was getting when I could not get it to play back over LTE:
Error writing trailer of /mnt/USB/USB1_c1/Channels DVR/Streaming/13235689-ch175/stream.m3u8: No such file or directory2017/01/30 20:09:27 [HLS] Starting transcoder for channel 171 (encoder=h264_vaapi, resolution=720, deinterlacer=blend, bitrate=4000)

I havenāt had a chance to test the higher qualities for the pixelization/blockiness yet, but adding this has been a godsend for my meager cellular connection. Can finally stream just fine over the vpn. Cheers!
v2017.01.31.2207 is now available with several transcoder improvements. Notably the performance is much better when using lower resolutions.
Just thought Iād update that .31.2107 has cleared up the blockiness/quality problems even at the higher quality settings (tried 1080p/10Mb and 720p/4Mb) too!
yes, the hardware transcoding is looking great. i appreciate how much work you have put into fixing this.
