Web playback socket shutdown

When I try and stream a show over the web interface all I get is message saying “Transcoder Finished” at the bottom of the window with no video. I’ve tried with both the Hardware and Software transcoder using different quality levels (on a Macbook Pro). Looking at the log I can see the following message:

2017/01/30 20:33:54 [HLS] Starting transcoder for file-243 at 49m10s (encoder=libx264, resolution=480, deinterlacer=blend, bitrate=2000)

Was it working before?

What version of macOS?

I had it working before, although it’s never worked that great. It seemed to be getting better with the more recent releases although it still seemed to lock up/freeze depending upon the show, although this is the first time I’ve seen the issue I’m reporting. This is also the first time I’ve tried since last evening when I updated to MacOS 10.12.3.

Using a 2010 Macbook Pro (2.4GHz i5 w/ 8GB RAM)

Just a follow up to this issue. I discovered after upgrading to MacOS 10.12.3 that autofs didn’t work as expected (I use that to mount my Synology NAS). I’m not entirely sure what changed, but after playing with it a bit and re-entering my credentials I’m now able to properly get the drive to mount. With this fixed the recordings can now be streamed properly.

BTW - this site provides great instructions for setting up autofs on a Mac. If I didn’t have a lower end Synology box I’d just run the DVR engine on it instead.
