Is there not a way to have Channels skip commercials during playback through the web?
If not, is it in the roadmap to be added?

Commercial skip is not supported in the web player. From other post about this I don't think it is on the road map as a feature. In the past the devs have stated that the web UI is for Administrative use.
It works, but it’s manual not automatic.
Thanks, the problem with that approach is that there are scenarios where a web player is the only option, and it would be nice to have it skip commercials just like the apps do (and like Plex does in the web).
Well, it does indicate where the commercial markers are in the timeline, and it does allow you to skip to the next marker to skip the marked commercial segment. So, the only thing that it doesn't do that the apps allow for is automatic skipping; manual skipping works perfectly fine.
