Web ui playback (windows 7)

Just got a Mac Mini

OS: MacOS Sierra 10.12.3
DVR: 2017.01.24.0315
CPU: 2 cores / Intel® Core™ i7-4578U CPU @ 3.00GHz
RAM: 17.18 GB 75.5% free

Attempting any remote playback (Hardware/software) playback @480p, 360p or 240p
Tried Chrome and IE on Win7

Playback window stays black and at the bottom the following error shows

“Error: an unknown error occurred”

Nothing in the logs stand out error wise. (but I do have Hamachi installed as well

2017/01/24 16:46:26 [SYS] Bonjour service running for dvr-teddyrmacmini.local. [192.168.1.223 25.17.107.244]

Try playback from different computer or phone/tablet?

Ok. Slightly mixed but positive results.
Tried from 4 other devices (Win10Desktop, win7 laptop, win7 desktop, android phone).

Win10Desktop: No issues (on charter cable)
Win7laptop: Same issue described (on charter cable)
Win7Desktop: Same issue described. (on telepacific internet)
Android phone (4g on tmobile): No issues

I am now considering that AV (both win 7 devices have Symantec on them) or something missing from the win7 devices may be my issue.

What are the components in the browsers (chrome,ie,edge) that the different transcoding (hw/sw) methods need to render/playback the items?

We use HTML5 Media Source Extensions (MSE)

Might not work on win7, atleast in IE11: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn594470(v=vs.85).aspx

Ok… All is not lost for win7 users…

The latest version of Firefox (51) does work (does NOT show the error mentioned)… Just need to now make sure it will play an extended session

Tried a machine w FF 43 and FF 51 (older versions may as well, depending on the exact requirements)

If the device can play local files of the format natively then FF should be able to play them…
