Weekend episodes not recording

I have a DVR pass set up to record local news programs every night. The shows record without issue on week days. They fail to record on Saturdays and Sundays.

I have tried to set up a separate pass for the weekend airings of the news, but when selecting the show it indicates that the pass is already set up with options to delete or change settings. But getting out the show is not highlighted to record. I can manually select to record the one episode, but the pass does not work.

The program name is the same. Anybody else having this issue?

Try setting the series pass to record both new and reruns. They may be incorrectly marked as reruns.

Don't ask me why, but "news" shows often have a different series i.d. for weekends than for weekdays. Sometimes even a different series i.d. for M-F, Sat, and Sun. Yup: Even when the show title is identical on each day.
Channels passes work by series i.d.'s. So you may have to set up separate passes--sometimes two, sometimes three.

The New / All option seems to be the problem. The episodes are highlighted to record now.

I knew about the series id from previous experience with other DVR and I had tried creating separate passes.
