What are the requirements to get a high density Guide and On Later?

What is it that triggers the various Android clients to display a higher density Guide, On Later, etc -- as I'm seeing on my 4K laptop running the Android TV client via WSA:

With a 4K TV and my stick set to 4K, I'm seeing this for a grid guide:

What you are seeing is by design. It just does that on the desktop, not on streaming clients. There's no way to change it.

But wouldn't I be considered a streaming client when using a sideloaded app via the Windows Subsystem for Android?

Technically, you're running the tablet version in the Windows subsystem, not the streaming client TV version.

Its odd that it cannot be changed. Maybe could be added to a Wish List? Here is what the old SageTV gives you options for an android client and windows client. You can change the columns to show 2 or up to 10, I have found 5 works well on my particular TV with the distance we watch from. Although 10 works Ok on a Win desktop client screen when I just tried. -Bill
