What are these Errors?

OK I tried it and it returned the word "true". Is that good?

I tried the long press to check for an update already, but it doesn't appear there is one. Do you guys have one about to be released?

Yes, if it returned true it worked. You should see on the Status page how long the DVR has been running.

Here is what it still shows:

It doesn't appear that the restart worked. The Uptime should show that it has just restarted.

You issued:

curl -XPUT http://192.168.3.182:8089/updater/force/restart

?

yes

Odd. Can you try it again? I just tested it on my own DVR and it restarted it. Also, could you check the recent DVR logs to see if it did anything?

I did it again and it returned the same "true" response, but this time IT WORKED!!!!!!

You guys I think are the single best support I have ever experienced, thank you!!!

Now let's see if it stays up and working for more than the 10 days I had on the previous version.

OK it was working all around and now it isn't again. It only works locally but not remotely. Here are the logs with some errors:

PS - I did get it back working by unchecking and checking the DVR tab in Settings, effectively turning the DVR off and then on again.

It looks like left over issues from when the time on your SHIELD was wrong. You may need to re-select “Connect to Channels DVR” from the iOS/tvOS app as well.

It’s locked up again in the same way. Can see all menus except Settings and Logs when accessing it remotely.

PS - Does the same thing when accessing locally as well.

I think this is the important part of the logs where this error was caused the other day (didn't notice until late last night). I was able to access this using the "...log?n=-1" address you gave me earlier.:

I think this is the culprit, the log that says "Failed to refresh auth: Post"

This is the wrong date?

Exactly, which is apparently a symptom of the problem!

I’m thinking it has something to do with the remnants of the older DVR Server I had on here before you advised me to move it to a new external USB Hard drive attached to my Shield. I believe you told me this sometime around that date. Coincidence?

When it suddenly starts working correctly, the date and time are correct.

You can see in the logs I posted a few posts up where the date is correct and then it reverts to the 7/23/2019 date when all the issues resurface.

Here is where it transitioned:

Sounds like the clock on the shield is failing. Could be a hardware failure. That explains the other weird issues too.

@tmm1, so you don’t think it has anything to do with the below?:

No I do t think that could be related. It's saying "starting 2020.01" but the date is 2019.07 so the clock on your shield is broken.

OK my daughter got home and she rebooted everything for me. Here is the log for the transition point at which it crashed and then just came back up.:

(****Repeated over and over With different station numbers ****)

What do these errors represent? Could this be caused by a bad clock?

Yes, nothing will work if the clock is in the past.

If you really want to run a dvr remotely I think you should invest in a NAS instead of the SHIELD.
