What does the $30 Live app get me?

New here. I'm looking at the "Channels: Live TV" app on my new CC Google TV and wondering if it's worth buying. I've read a lot but don't seem to understand what it does or what I need.

I have YTTV, Philo, Pluto, Netflix, Prime, etc. Does the app give me a guide with all live shows from all those sources? Do I have to have Home Run? (I have Tablo I seldom use). Can I record shows from Pluto, Netflix (if I buy DVR Plus)?

My main goal would be a consolidated guide on all tvs in house. Second goal record shows other than from YTTV. Thank you.

The paid live tv app only works with hdhomerun boxes.

If you set up Channels DVR in your house, with the Plus subscription, then you can use the Channels DVR app for free on all the TV's in your house. It can link to your YTTV and Philo subscriptions via TV Everywhere, as well as Pluto via "Custom Channels", and you can record from all of them, to your local DVR.

Channels doesn't deal with Netflix or Amazon Prime at all though.
