What happened to Search? (Docker)

I really do not understand the reason behind it. Why did you remove Search feature from the menu bar?
Part of that page was ability to display upcoming movies that are linked to Favorites. I could see movie artwork and read description.

I selected only commercial free channels to be in my Favorites

Now If I want to schedule something I have to go to Guide which has only movie titles. On Later shows the movies across all available channels.

There is no ability to filter out channels or movies. To tell the truth this is not a difficult feature to implement. At least give us some options. Downgrading would be one of them.

This has been discussed at length in at least one other thread. The same search function is there, just in a different place, I believe. I would recommend searching the forums to find the existing threads.

The same recommendations are available in the On Later section. We'll be putting real work into that section soon to get it way better as well as available in the apps. This includes allowing you to choose which channels it should be based on.

Recommendations were only under search to fill in the blank page when a query hadn't been entered yet. That isn't needed anymore now that the search is always available in the nav bar.

Previously search did not even search your recorded conten...for years. Now it does, this is a huge improvement. We're moving the platform forward, and will continue to do so. We do this thoughtfully and with the least amount of disruption possible. We think we did that here.

Change will always happen, thats how most software works. We're not even close to our original vision and as we move forward, you'll see more things change.

I appreciate your response.

Previous Search/Upcoming tab probably should not be called Search at all. However it showed upcoming movies on selected channels. I had it setup to show commercial free channels only. On Later page is good, but is lacking filtering feature.

It is hard to look for something when one does not know what to look for. In this case Guide is not efficient and On Later is limited.

If I could also suggest some change. One of the things that Windows Media Center offered was ability to group Guide channels and give them unique names. This is what Channels DVR is missing.

I'm not against change and I do appreciate your hard work. Channels DVR is a great product.

I see new changes being implemented. Thank you
Channels Collection is not part of the Guide yet.

Yes, it is. And for "unique names" I'm using emoji.

The collections are not showing up on my Apple TV. Maybe there is some setting that needs to be enabled?
Also, they are not part of the Guide in Docker app.

Did you enable the server side settings in the clients part of the dvr ui and set the lists for that setting for some or all of the clients?

I did not know that this needs to be changed. I did it and know I can see channels collection on Apple TV, however it is not part of Guide in Docker app. Thanks

I assume you are referring to the DVR server's web UI? If so, this is a known shortcoming. The developers have stated that improvements will continue with Collections.
