What happens if I delete a local content source?

Hi all. I recently added my local library sources to Channels, mainly just to see how it works. I have a Plex Server, but I added my Plex content to Channels as well, just to check it out.

I have quite a large library, and now it is done scanning movies and has started working on the TV shows. I have found that opening Channels now takes a very long time, so I'm thinking of just removing the local because I don't know if I would actually use it, it was more of a curiosity.

Under Local Content, I clicked on the trash can for TV shows, and it comes up with a bit of a scary message:

"Are you sure you want to remove all content imported from "/Users/bink/mnt/gdrive/TV Shows"?"

From the wording of this message, it sounds like it is going to delete the actual content, not just the Channels information about that content. Can someone clarify for me whether this will delete the actual files from my drive? I obviously don't want to delete the actual TV shows, I only want to delete the information from the Channels database.

It won't delete anything from disk, it just removes the items from your library.

Great, thank you. That's what I assumed, but that would have been a huge mistake if I was wrong. If I can make a suggestion, you might want to change the wording of that warning. By using the word "content" it makes it sound like it is going to delete the actual files from disk.

Thanks for the feedback. It's certainly worth being more wordy to assure people terabytes of video won't be deleted

If you want to blend your local Plex stuff and Channels DVR, I recommend Kodi with the PlexKodiConnect add-on and the Channels DVR add-on.
