What happens when Gracenote "changes" episodes?

To begin with, Gracenote and Foodnetwork have never been friendly.

First 4 episodes of "The Pioneer Woman" season 36, which Food Network says is Season 35 and Gracenote (zap2it) says was season 33 were recorded as s34E00 for all 4. I edited the metadata to make it flow and make sense.

Now, gracenote has renumbered these in zap2it to Season 35 in sequential order instead of E01, E02...

Exactly what does Channels use to determine whether or not to record these shows again if they come up in the guide?

Each unique episode has their own unique ID. We use that. Not season and episode numbers.
