What is, "Detect Commericals" suposed to do?

I’m still in the testing phase here with Channels. It’s running on a Synology server and have two Apple TV’s. What is the “Detect Commercials” supposed to be dong? Is it meant to delete commercials? If so, I guess it’s not working even though it’s checked. Is there another step or something in order to get it to work?

It detects the commercials, and marks them on the recording for when you’re watching via ATV. You can see the commercial segments in the timeline.

You can also double-click left/right to skip ahead.

Oh, OK, I guess that’s not working then. Or it wasn’t enabled on my first test recording.

You can check the Log tab to see if commercial detection ran and if it failed. Possible it’s still running too.

I have this working now. Thank you very cool feature. Do you know if there is a way for commercials to be stripped out completely?
Ended up migrating my install from Synology to Windows machine.

Or, is it possible to add our own post processing commands?
