What is the best way to correct naming issues with PlayOn recordings?

I recently starting using PlayOn to record shows, which is an awesome feature. Thanks for adding that! The first show I added to my queue was from Crackle and worked as expected. The second show I added is from Hulu. The show is called Fringe. The way Hulu has the show categorized is "Fringe The Complete First Season", "Fringe The Complete Second Season", "...Third Season", etc. When the episodes get downloaded, each season is in its own folder since that is the way they are seen. What is the best way to correct the issue to avoid issues and have the show show up correctly as one show instead of five separate shows? Should I move all the episodes into one folder in the actual DVR location? Should I use Channels' interface to fix it? Any help is appreciated!

The simplest way would be to move the folder from PlayOn/TV into Imports/TV and rename it there.

Or on the dvr web UI you could click Fix Incorrect Match for each season and set it to Fringe. That should combine them into one show.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went to the web UI and went to DVR > All Recordings > Imports and saw the show in the Unmatched Shows folder. I clicked on the first season section and clicked More Options > Fix Incorrect Match and changed the title from Fringe The Complete First Season to just Fringe. It refreshed all the show information and moved the show to the Shows folder from the Unmatched Shows folder. I then did the same thing for the second season and it also corrected it. The remaining seasons are still downloading.

The show still segregated into separate folders in the actual DVR (in our case, our NAS) which isn't bad since it is not user facing. If I wanted to group them all into one folder called Fringe to be consistent with our other shows, would I just move them from PlayOn/TV into Imports/TV as you suggested? Would I need to update Channels to remove the old listings or will it fix itself once the change is made?

Yes if you wanted one folder you would move it.

Then under Local Content you would select Prune then Scan and it should create new entries in your library and move the old ones to Trash.

Thanks! Again, I appreciate such a great program. We moved from TiVo a while ago to Channels and continue to be impressed not only by the program itself and the continual improvements but most of all the great support from both the developers and the community. The biggest compliment perhaps would be my family has never once questioned or complained about the change from TiVo to Channels. Have a great weekend!
