What is Uplynk? Whenever I watch HGTV GO, during the commercials, it says "UPLYNK, Please wait for the commercial break to end."
It only happens on HGTV GO, no other app.
Also happens on history and discovery. It's on the feed from them. I wouldn't worry about it
Uplynk is a content delivery network (CDN) that is owned by Verizon. Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) uses it as part of the infrastructure for their streaming services. Since HGTV is owned by WBD, the use of Uplynk is expected.
The placard that displays is because the internet streams (such as what you'll see within Channels when using TVE) are national feeds; were you watching via cable/satellite, instead of seeing those Uplynk placards you would see commercials for your local area instead. This is all working as expected. (Do you ever notice that when you watch TV sometimes a commercial is cut short and another plays over it? This is the same situation, but instead of seeing the local commercial you get the placeholder.)

I don't want or need anything to interrupt my TV!!
I'm not sure if we "shouldn't worry about it" it could be the start of worse things to come!

That ad replacement is part of the stream the networks are offering. What do you expect Channels DVR to do with it? At least CDVR allows you to time-shift and skip them, like any other commercial…
