What to run server on?

I am currently running the channel server on my Nvidia shield but I just purchased this WD - My Cloud Expert EX2 Ultra 2-Bay 8TB External
Network Attached Storage to upgrade old NAS. What one would be better to run the server on if this NAS is even capable. Both would be attached to the network via ethernet.

Here is the link. At the bottom it has EX2 series does not support the TV Everywhere feature. So I guess it depends on what you are doing with it.

Hmm thanks, that is what I would want if I installed the server on it. Any reason I cannot just continue with server on shield and point that to using this as the storage? Or any recommendation on something similar priced for $400 2 bay 8TB preconfigured.

If your Shield will supports SMB shares, then using your NAS for storage is a great option. My storage is on TrueNAS and my server access it via SMB shares. You should be able to copy everything over to your NAS or set your NAS as a second storage directory and if the share is larger, all new recordings will go the the NAS.
