When Gracenote doesn't have metadata…

My wife has a set of BBC Jane Austen recordings, some from the 1970s. An example:

Gracenote doesn't have any metadata for this video. Is there a way to get the correct cover art (at least) into Channels?

Also, the video is broken up into parts, and even for videos that Gracenote has metadata, Channels ends up showing the parts in random order, and all the titles are the same. That is, a video will be broken into six parts, I use the "Fix incorrect match" to point to the correct video, and parts one through six all are titled "Persuasion" with no way to differentiate them, even in the places where Channels shows the title.

Before someone tells me that I need to make them TV episodes or something, I'm trying to keep a collection called "Jane Austen" that has all of her recordings, whether considered "movie" or "tv" or whatever. Is this doable?

Not until they allow using TMDB or TVDB for local TV show import metadata.

You might use a video editor like Avidemux to create a single video file from your individual episodes and then import that file into your “import movie” directory. You can then use Gracenote or “The MovieDB” to find a match with metadata for something close the the TV mini series. Not perfect, but a workaround until Channels users can edit their own local database.
