Which HDMI Tuning is Best for My Setup

I've got DirecTV Stream (MySports) and Philo and would like to add the non-TVE channels through one of the HDMI tuning solutions (Chrome Capture, ADBTuner, ah4c.). I run my Channels DVR server on a Mac Mini 2. Which of the tuning solutions would you recommend for my situation? I'm also looking for the easiest one to set up. Also, based on your tuning recommendation, which HDMI switching device should I use, and which streaming device?

Thank you in advance for the replies.

I think ADBTuner will do...

Thank you. Any recommendations for the HDMI capture device or streamer (ONN, Chromecast, etc.) or will any work just fine?

Linkpi encoders work best and have a lot of useful forum posts on set up. If you have android/google tv devices like the onn boxes, which seems to have less issue compared to the Google branded boxes, ADBTuner works for both services. If you have Roku devices, you can try the Roku Channels Bridge. Both of those services work with deep links on the Roku Bridge.

Thank you!

@spammedeeper has done a lot of work on DirecTV Stream setups in both ADBTuner and ah4c. He can comment more on setups but I believe he likes the Osprey devices best for DirecTV only. The ONN devices work very good for for other services like Philo and YTTV with ADBTuner. As @Bobby_Vaughn said, Linkpi encoders seem to be the go to for encoders now.

I currently run (3) Osprey devices on an ah4c container setup thru portainer on my Synology NAS. Tuning is around 11-13 seconds at startup. It's been pretty consistent and was fairly easy to set up. I use a 5 port Link Pi Enc5-V2 encoder.
Osprey's were all ordered from eBay from aplera. The benefit of the Osprey is being able to turn the 'R U watching' screen off in the Osprey settings menu.

I would suggest using @bnhf 's Project One Click. This would allow you to test each project in your environment before finalizing your setup.

Thank you, everyone, for the advice.

I use the LinkPi coupled with a usb hdmi grabber so that gives me 2 tuners really. Get a couple of onn pucks or FireTVs and you'll be fine

So if I bought a LinkPi with a single input, the grabber and two Onns, I should be able to tune Philo on one and DTV on the other? If so, that looks to be a cheaper option than the five-port linkpi. Would this grabber work?

Maybe...but you want to make sure its working out of the box

This is the one I found that worked for me out of the box

Have time for a quick reply.

I use DirecTV. Osprey boxes work very well to tune DTV channels when using AH4C or ADBTuner. They are not reliable for anything else.

Onn 4K Plus or Pro boxes also work with DTV App and ADBTuner. They are just slower to tune channels.

LinkPi encodes are nice HDMI capture devices. I started with a single port LinkPi and quickly moved up to the five port ENC5 v2. Has worked great for two years.

If you get a LinkPi and one of those USB capture devices keep in mind the chipset for the USB device should be MS2130/2131, not the older 2109. Also the quality of the USB capture will not be great, especially if you plug into a USB 2.0 port, which is what is in the LinkPi ENC1 V3.

Thank you so much! Looking at everything, I’m still trying to decide if it’s worth the cost, but this gives me a lot to think about.

The front eSata/USB port seems to be much faster than the rear USB 2 slots.

I tried USB in all the ports and didn’t notice video capture difference. Maybe for data transfer speed as it is in its own internal hub. USB HDMI works and is fine for a $25 second tuner, especially when viewing on a small screens.
