Which linux?

OK, I have installed Channels on a FreeBSD box. I liked the simplicity of Freebsd over Linux.

I have had experience with Linux (since the 1990's).

But my question is the following ...

Which Linux is the focus of Channels Server?

I'll deal with whatever the answer is.

But what I do not want at this point, is another, install Channels on a box only to have that FreeBSD box be tossed aside.

So I ask, what is the Linux I should use going forward?

Thanks.

IIRC, the FreeBSD build is being discontinued. As for Linux, you are free to choose your distro. If you prefer OCI containers, then any distro supporting Docker or Podman is available. If you want to manage it yourself, then anything else is fair game. (Personally, I would gravitate towards LXC or systemd-nspawn containers.)

If you want a stable distro, I say Debian. If you want modern but free, Fedora. If you don't care and want to hate yourself, go Ubuntu.

Thanks for the info.

I'm going to use Debian, as I am familiar with it and have found it to be very stable.

Thanks again.
