So it looks like YTTV is about to lose many channels tomorrow due to dispute with Paramount. Should this happen and I have to change providers which ones work best in terms of authenticating with Channels DVR? YTTV had its authentication issues in the past but works well for me now. So looking at HULU, FUBO etc.
Unless the devs come up with a fix soon Hulu won’t authenticate anything at the moment. Before this morning Hulu was working pretty well lately.
Edit: Hulu authentication working again on new prerelease.
I’ve had no problems with Fubo. It however does not include Turner Networks, so no CNN, TNT, or TBS. On the other hand it works well with TVE, and the Fubo VLC project, at least for now. I have the Elite plan so that docker is providing 278 channels currently and TVE is providing 118 of those. Channel surfing is fast, too. Very quick tuning.
Overall its integration with Channels is the best I’ve got going, and I tried most of them previously.
And best of all IMO with an AppleTV the Fubo app has a very excellent “multiview” feature that no other provider or app has been able to add quite as elegantly. I wish that multiview UI was standard across the board for all video content! On big sports or news days, it’s fantastic.
So, specifically, which channels are we about to lose on YTTV via TVE?
Thanks for the link.

I think the better Question is what TVE source is the most reliable...
For me, that would be Philo. It has ever only had one authenticate issue in the years i have been using CDVR. When the issue happened, posted here and the devs had it fixed very quickly.
Though, OTA (Antenna) via HDHR is the most reliable as it requires no authentication.
I think they are all good questions ...
What channels are available, reliable, and painless to add to Channels DVR?
Is relative though.
Easy, pretty much all of them are easy.
Reliable... varies.
Painless, no such thing as perfect.
What is those things to one user, is not to another user.
Adding Pluto, Plex, Samsung, or other m3u sources, is very easy, if u already know about m3u and docker containers etc.
They are reliable, until they are not. Or have guide data issues.
Only as good as the source it self, which is outside the end users control.
Most concerned with authentication for TVE. As I said, at one time YTTV just stopped working because they had a captcha issue, worked around that one. Xfinity which is my back up, can be a pain to keep connected at times. Can't be my primary because I only have access to their most limited basic service which lacks many channels.
My comment was honest and straightforward - you can split hairs all you like.
This means that YouTube TV will increase its monthly subscription price as explained by Lon Seidman:
