When watching channels on apple 4k, image will freez then will say connection lost.
When I back out of that message, I do get back to the list of live channels.
Need more information. What is the source of the live Tv? How is the Apple TV connected to the network?
We are using outdoor antenna. Using Hd homerun Extend to connect to router.
How is the Apple TV connected to the network? First thing to check is network connectivity problems. Any errors in the DVR error log at the time of the issue?
The internet is up, I do a speed test on my phone using WIFI. I did up load diagnostic logs.
Still having connection lost errors when watching Channels live with Over The Air antenna. We changed from 2.4 g to 5g and that helps a lot regarding live programs stuttering and freezing up. But still have connection lost errors.
I can't see the log because the screen reader I use will not verbalize them.
Is it possible to even temporarily hard wire the Apple TV to see if the issue stops? It’s impossible to tell without seeing the logs but this is likely wifi instability. Also.. do you have tuner sharing enabled on your client?
how can I get a log file to you? To have you look at it?
From the web ui you can go to the support area and see the logs there. You can just copy and paste the text from the timeframe you have the issue into the thread here and we may be able to help. There is also an option to submit diagnostics in that support area that will send lots of information to the Devs and perhaps allow them to chip in as well.
Shared tuner is turned off.
can't figure out how to get at the log files on the channels page. Many of the elliments are not tagged correctly to work with voiceover. I did submit logs from the channels app on my apple TV.
From the DVR web UI, navigate to Support > Logs
Submitting logs from Apple TV will also cause the DVR to submit logs, I believe. So hopefully the Devs can see something in them to help.

Hmm. I see you mentioned you aren’t using tuner sharing, but we were so focused on getting the logs I think we missed that point. If you’re not using tuner sharing that means your client is connecting directly to the HDHomeRun when you’re watching live TV, and the DVR server is not involved. So, we don’t have any information about what is going wrong in the DVR logs unfortunately. The most likely culprit is still network connectivity, especially since you are on wifi. Have you tried investigating your wifi network at all to make sure you are using the least busy channel, etc.?
It might be worth a try to turn tuner sharing on and see if the behavior changes any. Even if it continues to happen at least the logs might have some data that could give us a direction to go in.

as has been mentioned. If you run ethernet to the client, your issue will go away.
It would not be an option to hard wire the Apple TV to the router.
We did not have this stuttering and freezing problem until we changed the password for the WIFI. could this be the cause?
I did turn on tuner sharing and this is a clip from the log. Open to suggestions

That is further proof that the WiFi is not keeping up. The buffer on the DVR is filling up because the TV isn't downloading fast enough over WiFi.
so what would you suggest for a solution? Faster Wi-Fi speed, a different Wi-Fi router? A better larger TV in Tenna? Please help me with finding a solution to this problem not just identifying the problem
