Why bother storing Full Summary when it doesn't get used?

Running latest beta on Shield, and I see there's both Summary and Full summary in episodes' metadata, but Android & Android TV apps only displays the shorter Summary.

Yet recorded movies are kind of the opposite. There's only a Summary field in movie metadata, yet the app shows a longer summary (like TV Full Summary) which isn't even displayed in web UI.

Also, would be nice if the exported JSON file included the Full Summary (unless there's a character limit).

Full summary was added so it can be used by search. We may use it in the UI in the future as well.

I end up editing the MCEBuddy Metadata json file and over-writing Description with the contents of Full Summary. And while I'm in there I add the Series ID, Program ID and correct the Season, Episode and OAD if necessary.

Yet you already DO use it for Movies (even though your Web UI only shows the shorter Summary, while the app shows the Full Summary...despite the Full Summary not even being exposed/shown in the Web UI at all).

But not very well. The full description gets clipped/truncated more often than not, and there is no way in the app to actually read the full description.

(That, and the clipped images in Apple clients are the 2 most annoying UI bugs that have been around forever.)

Agreed to the clipping, although if the data is there, why not use it. Either fix the clipping (might not be an easy fix, esp if you say it's been present in Apple client for years), or give the option on which Summary to use (not sure if it should be a client or server setting).
