I’m curious why commercial detection results are so mixed between different channels. Example: HGTV is almost perfect, whereas the History channel almost never captures commercial breaks accurately. Does it need to be tuned for each specific channel?
It barely works at all, with many channels. I don't know why. Maybe somebody that does will chime in.
Of the few passes I have set up, most record programs from History via Spectrum TVE. I find the commercial detection and skip function works very well on these programs.
History should work perfect as it uses the built in ad detection and not comskip. It's flawless for me...
That’s odd as I would expect the experience to be the same. I’m not complaining, just sharing my experience. All in all I’m very impressed with how well ad detection works as it’s not an easy task…
A different skip tool is used for TVE verses when you use a tuner. The one for TVE works much better for the Discovery owned channels.
