I was wondering how, if I schedule a recording, will Channels handle the recording if it’s not running?
Channels DVR will be a service that runs on another always on computer in your house. This means a computer, NAS, or even maybe a Raspberry PI.
Not only are tvOS applications unable to work in the background, they have no means to store the amount of data that a DVR would require. So DVR will have to be running somewhere else.
The beauty of this is that we’ll be able to do anything we want outside of any restrictions of tvOS or the App Store. It also means we can push out updates as fast as we want.
