Will the Pass choose best channel/tuner available?

I'm using an HRHD 4k, so I have two 3.0 tuners and two 1.0 tuners. The channels are 4,5,etc for 1.0 and 104,105, etc for 3.0. I have set passes for lots of different shows to record new only. It seems like it is missing some and I'm wondering if it's not utilizing the two 1.0 tuners when the two 3.0 tuners are occupied by something higher in the priority. Would this be accurate and is there a good solution? Do I have to go thru the schedule and see that there is a conflict at a particular time and move one?

Along these lines, having a warning when there is a conflict (more recordings than tuners) would be helpful too

The DVR schedule tab on the web UI should list exactly what is scheduled to record and what channel numbers will be tried for each recording.

Where and how would the warning appear?
On the web UI, via push txt msg, email, m3u?, a client, which client., etc.

Channels DVR is not a closed black box, It uses sources available to other software and devices.
It also allows clients to access it including via M3U playlists.

We all want that but it's a tough nut to crack. Until then, I check my log for new recordings scheduled, check my schedule and adjust as needed.

It's not an easy task to do conflict management or even notification with Channels.

I'm not a developer but understand the reasons.

Too many sources, clients, priorities, no exclusive control over sources, etc.

I just don't see it happening. Maybe someone desperate enough will create an add-on or separate program to just show you the conflicts if you only have a single source and nothing else can access it.

That was one of my first questions as a new user of Channels. I came from TiVo which had good conflict management (but it's a closed box system in exclusive control of its tuners)

That's reasonable because they don't have sole access to their sources. I guess I never considered giving access to other things. My biggest dream is to streamline everything through one place rather than spreading access around. I don't have a ton of sources either though...tuners, Netflix, Amazon, HBO. I chose this product because they seem to be extremely responsive and continually working toward something that could possibly achieve my dream. Even if that response is "that's not going to be possible or a priority anytime soon". I really appreciate the solving low hanging fruit and consistent improvement over trying to promise and go big only to ultimately fail.

Agree, I'm approaching my third year with Channels DVR and haven't found anything better for my needs so far. The devs are very responsive and continually add new features while also listening to their user base (unlike others that ignore you). I've abandonded other solutions that either became outdated, didn't listen to me or were not responsive to issues and am satisfied with Channels DVR. If you want to work-around something they currently have that doesn't fit your need, they're responsive (if you're capable) at assisting you in that. I hate subscriptions, but this one makes sense. If you don't like it, cancel it.
