These are the ones I use on my Fire stick.
com.amazon.firetv.youtube.tv
dev.cobalt.app.MainActivity
Thanks that did the trick. I see that I did not have to create another provider as you already have the software recognize the device it's tuning. Is it possible to have Firesticks also preload YoutubeTV like the Onn sticks do? At the moment, the Onn sticks do, but the Firestick just returns to the home screen.
Great stuff!
I will have to see if the fire stick requires a different ADB command to restart the app. I will add that to the next release. thanks for the catch.
I think that system of stopping the app, going back to the home screen, and then relaunching the app might be a bandwidth saver. Most of these Android based streaming sticks seem to do a fair amount of advertising on their homescreens. After some researching and work I was able to get the Onn sticks to be fairly static on the homescreen, but I haven't checked on how to minimize it with the Firesticks yet.
For reasons that I can't explain, the older v5.1.5-WIN is now pretuning to YoutubeTV after an initial release.
5.1.5 is the release I added the keep warm feature to.
Right. But even running 5.1.5 on Saturday the (1) Firestick I was testing wasn't reloading YoutubeTV as it released another recording. Today it is.
Oh.. I understand what you are saying now. I did make a change in the latest version to relax conditional checks when the ADB commands are sent to reopen the default app. It should make the Fire OS more reliable in this respect.
This system looks great. I have it installed and running to try and Iām wondering if there is a provider / a few channels that are free out there to test this with? For example, an Amazon free channel or sling tv free stream channel?
Iām trying to decide which platforms to commit to with this and/or ah4c and/or fast channels with drm channels such as going with YouTubeTV, spectrum, direct tv, etc now that TVE is dead.
Your system installed well I just wanted to try a few channels and see the end results.
Thanks.
If you are willing to go the docker route, both AH4C, Fastchannels and ADBTUNER offer more features and can do more than this app can. Any app that you have access to the channels on and that supports deeplinks will tune. The trick is finding deeplinks and format for the apps.
Ok, thanks. I have Docker and AH4C and FastChannels installed and working. Your application seems to be simple and clean, thus why I wanted to give it a go and it was up and running in no time. I appreciate all the work you, and others are doing, to keep Channels alive and viable since we prefer its interface and recording options over what providers are forcing on us these days. Thanks again.
Thank you. I'm a big fan of simple. The Windows ADB Bridge started as a basic way for me to tune my YTTV channels in a basic, easy way. Like everything, I have overcomplicated it by adding more and more features to it. I need to spend some time updating the documentation on it and the channels packs to include other apps. I think that will be my next endeavor.
I added a Sling Freestream Channel Pack to the ADB Bridge Channel Packs. It loads the channels and provider info to the ADB Bridge app when added. You would only need to have the Sling app added to you tuners to test
Great! Thank you.
Goroutine Memory Leak Fix: Replaced the buffered channel and background goroutine reading FFmpeg stdout with a direct streaming loop to prevent memory and CPU leaks when clients disconnect.
HTTP Chunk Flushing (Local): Implemented http.Flusher for the local capture card route to immediately deliver video chunks, bypassing Go's default buffering and eliminating stream jitter.
Keyframe and GOP Optimization: Forced a 1-second Group of Pictures (GOP) interval using -g and -keyint_min so Channels DVR receives keyframes instantly without waiting 4-5 seconds to begin decoding.
Dynamic Muxrate Adjustment: Removed the -muxrate 10M argument that was wasting bandwidth with null packet padding and causing stream drops during high-motion scenes.
MPEG-TS Header Broadcasts: Added -pat_period 0.1 and -mpegts_flags +resend_headers to frequently broadcast PAT/PMT program tables, allowing Channels DVR to lock onto the stream immediately.
HTTP Chunk Flushing (Network Proxy): Applied the same http.Flusher logic to the network encoder proxy loop to deliver packets instantly while preserving the user-defined blackoutMs splash screen delay.
