Xfinity TVE - ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED Again!

It had been working for months, but it happened again. No way to login into Xfinity TVE. Tried changing the password a couple of times, deleting the chromedata folder, etc. Nothing seems to work now... I get the "Cable provider authentication failed" with the screenshot of the Xfinity login page. Running on 2021.07.28.1650.

I get this same error about every 1-2 months. Nothing I can do locally fixes it, however, for some reason when I am NOT local I can delete and rescan and it fixes it every time. I really wish they would fix this. I have had support look at it before and when they too are remote they see no problem fixing it.

Diagnostics?

The connection refused thing is not related. Probably just your adblocker.

Then why, on my same laptop, will this fail locally, but work at a remote location. I just had this problem again last night, and couldn't fix it locally. Once I took my laptop, using the same open browser from last night at home, take it to work, and on the first attempt am able to fix it each time this happens.

Thought it could be my PiHole, but no: it was Xfinity asking me to update my email and phone number. I guess if you don't enable 2FA they do that once in a while. So if anybody faces this issue, just log into you account (or view-only sub-account) with the same username/password and just answer Xfinity's questions about your email and phone number, and be careful not to enable 2FA at the end of the process (it discreetly offers to turn it on in one final click). Then Channels TVE is good to go again. No need to change username/password.

I wish it was that easy. I repeatedly logged into Xfinity with no problem. After a number of failed attempts on the Channels DVR, Xfinity will tell you you need to change your password. I have done this as well to no avail. I wont use 2FA, and the only, and simple solution is to log into the Channels DVR remotley and remove\add\scan once again and it works that way every time. This will NOT work locally for a solution and I cannot find a local solution to this problem. I have addressed this with your support and gave them my login and found no issues performing this task remotley on their end (I know!!!)
