Yay! I finally got faster ISP (off topic)

TVE / IPTV / STREAMING have never been great for me. There was 0 high speed internet in my area until 2019. There was also no dialup because my neighborhood has no landlines. Rural living atbits best.

In 2019 a WISP (wireless internet service provider, long range wifi) started in my are. $100/mo for 10mbit.

Well the company has been upgrading equipment. Last night my ISP upgraded to 25MBPS. (Im seeing 20-23mbps on fast.com)

I just watched my first ever 4k youtube video. I AM SOOOOO EXCITED FOR UPGRADE!!!

I always had to look at DVR schedule to make sure to many things where not trying to record at the same time. TVE shows would always mess up if i had more then 1-2things recording.

I am so excited.

Nice! I think a lot of us forget that some folks have no internet options. I am glad they finally gave you something that can work! Hopefully in the future these near earth satellite companies can provide you even more.

I have a friend in upstate NY who uses Musk's satellite service, the name escapes me for now. She gets 90ish mbit and even can play low latency shooter type video games with minimal to good packet loss. $100ish a month last I heard, $500ish upfront for the hardware.

What about those times where the dish needs to reposition itself? How long is the outage?

Im unwilling to cut the oak trees that shade my house. I need to xut them or put up a 40ft tower.

Also starlink noe implements a 1TB data cap. I frequently exceeded that at 10mbps.

Yeah I am one of the lucky ones that gets to pay comcast for unlimited for the datacap. To me if you pay for x speed. You should be able to use that x speed for the entire month. Not a 1.2 tb cap.

No idea, I don't use the service. We simply play old school Quake with a group of friends a couple of times a week. The only complaint I heard her say was about cleaning bird :poop: off the dish once or twice when they decided it was a good place to gather.

She had no trees close enough to matter.
