YouTube.TV New Channels

YouTube.TV has recently added 8 new channels to their lineup. I just added YouTube.TV to my Channels DVR system and it scanned 209 channels and lists 112 on my DVR page but when I go to the Channels app on my TV, it doesn't list the new channels YouTube.TV just added like CMT, MTV, Nick, Paramount Network, etc .....how can I get all the channels showing on my Channels DVR guide?

Whenever changes are made to the server, I usually have to force the channels app to close on the TV or the device connected to the TV, and relaunch it to get everything to update.

You need to click-and-hold on the Check For Update button on the dvr web UI

One other question ....I have an HDHomeRun that I was using for local channels but it's so spotty I don't use it anymore. On my Channels DVR it's still seeing the HDHomeRun and on my Channels app it's wanting to use the HDHomeRun for the local channels even though YouTube.TV has my local channels. How can I view the local channels using the YouTube.TV instead of the HDHomeRun? Do I just need to disconnect my HDHomeRun altogether?

On your Client set the YouTube TVE tuner to higher priority.

I already have it above the HDHomeRun as priority but it's not picking up local channels because of the HDHomeRun

On your Client ... Make sure youtube is the highest. The Clients also have tuner priorities.

I did that...but it's not picking up the local channels.

Do you have local networks via TVE checked in the web page ? under Experimental Toggle experimental features and integrations

Just checked CC. YTTV is not listed as a provider yet, so no TVE support

I didn't...but I do now. It found 1 additional channel which is local KOCO (ABC) but it's not finding NBC, CBS, FOX local stations and when I try to view ABC local it says I'm not authorized. One of the whole reasons I subscribed to the Channels DVR app is so I could watch ALL my channels through the app. If I have to go into the YouTube.TV app just to watch local channels, I might as well watch the others in the app as well ...Channels app is kind of useless to me at this point then

Matter of fact ...I just looked at my list of channels in the YouTube.TV app and the channels on the Channels app and there are several channels the Channels app isn't picking up that's in my YouTube.TV app.

TBS
TNT
NIck
Cartoon Network
AMC
others

Yep YTTV doesn't have TVE support for those networks. Nothing Channels can do.

Thanks. I will contact Channels and see if I can cancel. If I can't view half of my channels in the Channels app it's pointless for me to use it

You can cancel with a single click any time you want on your account page at https://getchannels.com/account/

I do something similar to what you are doing, and am in agreement that if I can't get Channels DVR to do it all, not a lot of point in it. On the other hand, my HDhomerun Quatro does a pretty good job of getting all my local channels, and funnels them through Channels DVR right beside the TVE stuff, so that's a major thumbs up, especially with comskip running on everything.

I did have to upgrade a better antenna that I put in the attic. I sure understand not everyone has a positive antenna experience.
