Youtube TV? TVE lost channels?

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure if this is a widespread issue, but I recently noticed that several channels (CNN, CNNI, TNT, TBS, and TruTV) are no longer appearing in my guide after a rescan. I tried re-adding my YouTube TV account and performing a fresh channel scan, but they’re still missing.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a temporary outage, or have these channels been removed from YouTube TV’s TVE lineup? Any help or insights would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Those are all WBD channels, so it is likely an issue with their authentication backend. A couple of things you can try:

  • Verify that you can log in using your YTTV credentials on one of those websites for live viewing
  • Wait a bit, and try again

(Also, it may help if you share the exact wording of the error message, and perhaps the screenshot that Channels captures when the error occurs.)

Update: Solved!

I totally forgot how useful the logs are—turns out YouTube TV has started blocking some VPN connections (in my case, ProtonVPN). After disconnecting the VPN, I rescanned for channels, and everything reappeared (CNN, TNT, TBS, etc.).

Steps that worked for me:

  1. Disconnected ProtonVPN.
  2. Re-scanned channels in YouTube TV.
  3. All missing channels reloaded correctly.

For others experiencing this: If you’re using a VPN, try disabling it temporarily to see if that resolves the issue. Looks like WBD is cracking down on VPN access for certain channels.

Hope this helps anyone else running into the same problem!

Not just "certain channels", but all of their online streaming properties. (Other content owners are probably not far behind.)
