I have a question for the community.
Has anyone simply added YTTV as a Source, using their existing Google account which does not have 2FA,
and it simply works the first time, just like adding DirectvStream or Cox etc.
If you reply please say if you use Firestick, Applet TV, Android TV.
Thanks.
I'm wondering If all I am seeing are the posts that have a problem, when in fact, many add YTTV without issues.
Nope, I think all of us had to add a secondary Google account to make it work. I am using ATV's.
I’ve used YTTV as my source for a year with no problems other than an occasional but quickly rectified Fox or Discovery authentication problem. All issues I had were related to my HDD drive that were solved by switching to an SSD and USB hub. Using RP4 as server with Fire TV and Cube clients, iPads and iPhones. Keep in mind that the problems posted on here are like reading the 1-star reviews for a product with a 4.9 rating. It’s smooth sailing for the vast majority of Channels users.
I've never had to add a secondary account and haven't had the issues that a lot of people have. Just lucky, I guess.
My DVR is on an Ubuntu machine and I use Apple TV, iPad and iPhone clients. I've also had my DVR installed on macOS and Synology previously.
Exactly.
That’s what I’m trying to find out.
Only seeing bad reviews on a 4.9 star
OR most NOT having issues.
There are a few reports in different topics lately regarding issues authenticating w/YTTV.
Users won't come here until a channel fails to reauth, or they can't add the source.
Some I'm sure see it already reported and just wait for a fix.
The Channels client used has nothing to do with it.
If you view the Forum TVE category, you'll see the latest topics there.
If users post in that category, in the correct topics, you can see the current YTTV issues reported.
I see 6 current topics related to YTTV issues.
