2 servers

I have searched the forum but not found any answer to this question-

Can you have 2 servers in 2 different locations, linked together somehow, that appears as all in one guide to a client?

Thinking maybe tail scale comes into play here but don't know enough about it yet. Gonna read up on that.

Nope ... You have to login to each server individually.

Ok, understood. Can both servers share the same account or does each need to have its own channels subscription?

My personal opinion if you are going to have 2 servers in 2 different states/locations you should have separate subscriptions.

I disagree. As long as they are for your own personal use and under your direct control and authority. Which they always should be. Paying extra per-instance...no.

Only one instance can have remote access enabled at a time per subscription.

So technically if I am at home, my in home server would be local, and my out of home would be remote, so only using one subscription at a time. Is this correct?

Also, none of this actually matters right now because I only have one server lol. I'm really just curious and that's why I am asking.

I have been running 2 servers each running of a pi4b. Don’t remote stream so not a concern for me to have multiple account. Both are in same account. U only need separate accounts if u want more than one server to be remote accessible. Far as in know you can have as many local server instances as you want.

If you use a vpn hosted on your home network though you can remote acces all your local servers but the client apps only work with one at a time and you have to manually switch between them.

That's a brilliant way to control it.

What made you decide to have multiple servers locally? Are you using it as a way to have multiple pseudo user profiles?

Indeed. The only way to do it really.
