how to make the quality go up? newbie
also found the below for the recording. Is this antenna quality?
:15% of the recording was impacted by signal issues"
Yes antenna type, size, direction
Televes 144282, DINOVA BOSS Mix HDTV Antenna Hi-VHF/UHF Amplified. not sure what you mean by size; i used the website https://www.antennaweb.org to find the direction and pointed the antenna in that direction;
You can generate a rabbit ears report for your location and share it here. For example RabbitEars.Info
here it is
So which station are you trying to get and what direction is the antenna pointed in ?
third one 9.1(26)
how to find the direction of antenna? I pointed it toward downtown
use a compass or compass app on phone
thanks; using the compass on the phone; antenna is pointing at roughly 171 degrees South
So try changing to 145 based on the rabbitears report for 9.1
will do tomorrow.
thanks
back; I should have mentioned this is only occurring on recorded shows. watching live tv the quality is good. any special setting for recorded tv that i should change?
No. It may be there is interference during the time when recording is happening
thanks you for your time.
That station is 6.1 miles from you. Dump that amplified antenna and get you a cheap antenna with no amplification. Hdhr's have a huge issue with signals that are too hot. On top of that, you have a hot signal that you are amplifying as well. That's why you are having issues.
I'm 8 miles from my towers and this is what I use in my attic
Channel Master STEALTHtenna Digital HDTV Directional Outdoor TV Antenna - VHF, UHF Aerial with Adjustable Angle Bracket for Mast Pole or Vertical Surface Mounting Outside or in Attic - CM-3010HD Amazon.com
Then get yourself some attenuators. get a mixture of 3dB and 6dB
3db Coax Cable Attenuator Pad (1 Each) https://a.co/d/56CZa8K
Aim your antenna at the station, tune your HDHR to the station. look at your HDHR signal strength on the web status page. (you will need to refresh the page for every reading). It will likely be 100%. Start adding attenuators until she gets to about 85-90%. Then fine tune your antenna until she gets as high of a signal strength as you can (with attenuators). This is to make sure you are aimed correctly. Now adjust your attenuators to where the HDHR is right at or just under 100% signal.
Throw in an LTE filter and you will never have another problem.
This is an excellent antenna as its amplifier adjusts power boosting for each channel based on ideal signal. If your signal is in fact too hot simply unplug the power and bring it down as mentioned above. This is one of the few antennas out there that is capable of passive pass through. So no need to replace it.
I second this. power down the amp, and see if it's better. your signals scream through.
Hi, unplugged (120v plug) the amplified antenna; now getting;
|Signal Strength|100%|
|Signal Quality|71%|
|Symbol Quality|100%|
should I buy some " Coax Cable Attenuator Pad" to get the signal strength down?
how to tell if i need to buy an LTE Filter for TV Antennas?
thanks for the help.
