Any hope of supporting the 2017 FireTV Stick?

You mention prior versions of the firetv are not supported, but the current stick isn’t very different from the fTV3.

Any chance it will be supported or does it have the same issue as the older fTVs?

From our website:

The mpeg2 hardware decoder on the 1st and 2nd generation FireTV devices cannot deinterlace 1080i broadcasts, resulting in interlacing artifacts and a poor viewing experience. We recommend that users interested in a high-quality cordcutting solution with Channels to upgrade to the 3rd-generation Fire TV or an Android TV.

The 3rd generation Fire TV received deinterlacer support with a software update, so there’s always the possibility of that happening in the future to other devices. We’ll be monitoring the other devices as updates are released. We want as many people to be able to use Channels as possible.

To see what we are taking about, you can try the hdhomerun app and watch any 1080i channel like NBC, CBS, PBS. You will see the interlacing artifacts whenever there is fast movement.
