Apple TV & TV Sorting

I hope this is simple, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I have two Apple TV 4Ks, both on 18.1. Both have Channels 6.1.2. I have started importing some personal media to the server.

On one ATV, the imported TV episodes are listed correctly, in ascending order and with the episodes within the seasons also in ascending order (lowest numbers on the left).

On the other ATV, the exact same media is listed with the seasons in descending order and the episodes within the seasons also in descending order (highest numbers on the left).

What setting controls this???

Try
Settings > Library > Airing Order
Does that fix it? (works on my iPhone)

Yep, first place I checked. Both are set to Oldest First but the order doesn’t match each other. It also doesn’t change the order displayed if I try switching to Newest First.

Must be a tvOS issue. Can you try from an iPhone?

Is it only imported media doing that or are recordings also displaying incorrectly?

I see you already posted about imports out of order Personal Media and Weird Sorting - Help?

Check what the Watch Order is set for you shows as they have their own setting too.

I encountered this previously too... this toggle fixed it for me:

If you change a Show's Watch Order on a client, does it change it on the server, or is it also per client?
I just tried it on a Show from my iPhone and it changed it on the server too.
So it's a global setting no matter where you change it from.

This setting is attached to the show. It is not client specific.

Yes, I think that is the key. I figured it out. Somehow the Watching Order was out of sync. One ATV displayed the shows as oldest to newest, and the other showed them newest to oldest. When I switched the Watching Order on the "working" ATV to newest to oldest and then back, the other ATV then switched to match it.

I had assumed it was per client and it's not. Still no explanation for why it was out of sync and not matching the setting in the first place, but it's alright for the moment.

Thanks for the help.
