Will this automatically update to new version? Don't see it on my Fire 4k stick / Nvidia Shield

It just showed up on my Android. My Fire TV devices are set to auto update but 3.0 wasn't there yet so I manually installed by navigating to the Channels DVR tile and hitting the remote's menu (hamburger) button, then selecting "More Info". On the next screen, you may see an "Update" button. If it's not there, try selecting "Open" and then backing out. In the same spot you may see "Update".

Thanks. That did the trick

Loaded my sources Locast and Sling Tv. Noticed some channels not coiming in on my guide oone if those being Hallmark. Did some research and found out Hallmark doesnt work with TV everywhere via sling TV...Philo, however Does. So... I went and checked out Philo and it worked!....for about an our Bow get someavout a 404 abbd an m3u8 link. Wtf?

Click-and-hold the Check for Updates button

On the latest Android TV beta, if you have the delete option for the library turned off, you dont get a trash option for any tv shows recorded by channels. I went in and allowed deleting of items from the library and the trash option appeared for tv shows.

The library is now showing "Up Next" and "Recently Recorded" items as well as the movies I have imported into the library. With all of these being merged together, the trash option for the library no longer makes any sense. Was this change intended?

There’s no distinction in content for recordings and imported episodes and movies. According to Channels they are the same.

For Channels, recording and importing are just two different ways of adding content to your library.

Because of this, the option to hide delete buttons for one thing or the other isn’t something that we’ll be adding.

If they are to be treated the same and displayed together, can we get episodes from the two different sources to sort properly together so that up next works when there are episodes of the same show from both recordings and imports?

It should be working like that. That’s how it’s designed. If you’re seeing something different, please report the show name and the path to the imported episode files.

Its not sorting correctly. Show is Days of Our Lives. Recordings are stored at C:\DVR Imports are stored at Z:\Tivo Now Playing\

All episodes import but they are not sorting together. The imported episodes are not sorting in order on their own. It seems to not be dealing with 3 digit episode numbers correctly. I also sent diagnostics last week for this issue but could do so again.

I'm remotely helping a new Channels user and hoping this is the right thread. His DVR Server is running the latest pre-release and the Channels app is connecting via his FireTV Cube. All working great. Today he set up some Channel Collections but they're obviously not on his FireTV app because that app's is still just the release version. So now, how does a FireTV user get the latest beta app installed? Does this require sideloading the Google Play Store in order to get the beta app? Or is there an easier, more direct way? Or is it not possible... and he just needs to wait? All good either way, it sparked my curiosity, is all. Thanks for any answers.

However collections are not yet available in android beta

OK understood, thanks for the quick reply!

Please, pretty please even, can we get a clock on the EPG or somewhere?

Very funny. The first rule of Channels DVR is you don't ask about a clock!

Have asked about this in the past also it's one of, if not THE, top requested features. Doesn't seem like a huge technical hurdle but maybe there's a good reason that it is not being added.

Agreed, it is probably the most requested features, yet I've never heard a peep from the devs on the subject (and they are usually pretty great at responding). My only takeaway is that they don't like clocks, and refuse to even acknowledge the request :).
