Yea Maddox i thought id never need the HDHR Quattro with 4 streams and instead saved $40 to get the two tuner. So now I’m regretting that choice. Go ahead and credit me $40
Well done guys - slick setup.

Thank you for Multiview, this is my killer feature!
Here are my wish list:
1 - On Apple TV when I select OK to go full screen, if I select OK again it should exit out of full screen. It should work like on the iPad.
2 - Can we get the Play To Your TV feature to work on an active MultiView channel.
3 - Need Multiview collection which you can manage your Multiview channels from server settings and are able to launch Multiview collection on startup.
4 - Support up to 9+ channels in Multiview, mainly for viewing IP cameras.
5 - I’m assuming the iOS version is coming?
This! The left/right quick flip between channels is exactly what I was getting at. I just tried and it’s great!
The only thing I noticed today is the main full screen video, the one that was main before going full screen, retains the white (focus?) border.
Edit: Forgot to mention, Thanks!
Trying to nail this down, but I could reliably introduce video stuttering by using 3 different types of feeds.
BBCA TVE
A 1080i ATSC network
A 1080p ATSC3 channel
If I close the 3rd feed where stuttering started, the 2nd one (which also stuttered) recovered fine.
Just as an experiment, I set up Multiview on my iPad, and then used Screen Mirroring to mirror the 2x2 grid to my AppleTV, and all grids continued to play fine on the big screen. The presentation didn't go completely full-screen though, it showed the iPad UI frame and menubar elements. But this could still come in handy in situations where there's a bigscreen AirPlay target that doesn't have an AppleTV 4K attached or doesn't have the Channels app installed.
That said, I agree, a "Play to your TV" function would be sweet to see.
This was resolved in the latest TestFlight beta:
Sounds like what was just happening for me on Apple TV. 3x HDHR and 1x ESPN+ via EPlusTV. Video framerate would drop to like 4 fps on all feeds for 20 seconds every 20 minutes or so. Submitted diagnostics.
If I have two screens up. Max screen. Hit right to go to other channel. Then hit back on the remote to go out of full screen. The active screen switches to the other screen. Also sometimes it will highlight the other channel but play sound from the other channel.
Also I have the Roomy Spacing Off.
Or play sound from both channels simultaneously
Just tested the new build. Border is gone in full screen. But found something interesting.
Existing full screen used to pull focus back to the stream you just exited from. That is, the stream you exited was now focused in the leff-most larger multi display.
Now if you exist full screen, the focus stays on the stream you started full screen with. This can cause dual audio.
Rather than describe, maybe easier to replicate on an Apple TV.
Notice the right-most stack of three, bottom is focused video (the one you stated with in step 2) and the stream you just exited from is the larger view on left. Audio for both streams play.
EDIT: Found hitting enter/select on remote restores focus to main left video, audio goes to normal.
Hope that description makes sense. Really enjoy the left right, flip/skip (or whatever it will be called ).
Please be sure you are on the latest TestFlight beta as they are moving fast. A lot of fixes were put into the focus around the full screen cycling:
So far looks good maddox. Will continue to try to break it.
I just updated to v9.14.2302 on my iPad, set up four channels (very cool!) and now I can't escape from the 4-up view back to the main UI via the < button in the upper left. It just does nothing when I press it, while the button in the upper-right brings up the guide strip at the bottom as expected. Presumably the "back" button is supposed to work? I suppose I can force-quit it and send logs. I removed 3 of the 4 channels, leaving 1, and I'm still unable to go back.
It looks like I can switch to other screens (guide, on now) by long-pressing on the Channels app icon, but the back button never works. I just submitted diagnostics by going back to the guide and then opening the hamburger menu.
Edit: Same with 9.15.229
as of the latest TestFlight beta, Play To (and other remote mechanisms like Channels API and Siri Shortcuts) will add that channel to your Multiview, if Multiview is running.
Additionally, Multiview is cleaned up when launching other things via these mechanisms.
Is there an option to disable the confirmation prompt popup? It should work like the single player Play To.
When I use the Play To option from my phone or Shortcuts, I don’t want to pick up the remote to confirm it. At this point I already made that decision to replace or add the channel.
This was resolved in the latest TestFlight beta:
I was trying the “play to” feature this morning. I noticed that i was able to select some local content virtual channel material and “play to” the multiview on my apple tv.
As expected , because local content is not supported in multiview, you just get a the big triangle with exclamation point.
Perhaps there could be some extra logic or error handling in the “replace channel” to check for local content and reject. Or in the “play to “ to avoid sending local content to the multiview at all. Sounds like it could be tricky…
Good catch.
Yeah, the mobile client has no idea what is happening on the target, so it just passively sends the channel to play.
We'll add some logic on the target to disregard virtual channels.
As of the latest TestFlight beta, virtual channels will not be added to Multiview when sent remotely:
As of the latest TestFlight beta, you are no longer prompted to replace the active player when a channel is sent remotely:
