Cannot access remotely

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Channels

This is almost always a firewall issue on the inbound. But without more information about your network we can't really help you out. I was receiving the same error until I turned some nat features on my pfsense router. I already had the port forwarding turned on. You will need to enable port forwarding on your router and point to your server with that port. Depending on your OS.... Will depend on if you need to do this with a software firewall too.

So I assume the first screenshot is made when connected to the DVR locally on your network, but when you try away from home you get the second error. Is that correct?

Running the server on windows 10, windows firewall is allowing the server.

Router

This is correct....

What URL are you trying when accessing away from home? My.channelsdvr.net?

Yes, my.channelsdvr.net.

What device are you trying from and what kind of internet connection?

I've tried from a windows pc, android TVs and a iPhone and none will connect remotely. 15 Mbps DSL.

Interesting. First guess would be the ISP is blocking the traffic for some reason. Does the iPhone have cellular data? If so, does it work when going through the cellular network?

Ive been so confused because I believe I have set up everything correctly, iPhone will not on cellular. Everything works on the network correctly. Surely the ISP wouldn't be blocking it...

Also my Plex media server I can access remotely, outside the local network from these devices and its hosted on the same windows PC.

Did you turn windows firewall off just to try?

Yes and still unable to access.

Looks like most of your settings would be correct. Did you enable Remote DVR in the admin. Sorry just trying to go over the obvious stuff. Or even toggle it off and back on too.

Can you make sure remote access is enabled in the ui settings. Are you running more than one lan network? I noticed you are using a 192.168,0.x. Is your router on a 192.168.1?

Yeah, not a problem. Its currently enabled, I have turned it on and off a bunch of times.

It is enabled, I was running 2 routers before and could never get it to work so I eliminated the second router and now only using the ISP provided router/modem. I am using the 192.168.0.X network.

In channels dvr ui what does it show your server ip iis?

Seems like your router can't handle hairpinning. You may need to establish some type of split-horizon DNS if you want to use your external address/FQDN from within your local network. Or, just use the local IP when you are locally connected.

192.168.0.3, I have also set it as a static IP for the server. Could it be the DNS? I'm using the ISPs default DNS.
