Cannot connect to Channels Server on Synology with any Channel app

I have installed the server on a Synology NAS.
I can connect to the server via web browser on port 8089.
I have network discovery checked.

I can NOT connect to the server with any app (tried Apple TV, iPhone, Google TV). All of these are on the same WiFi network.

The apps all tell me that a server can’t be found. When I enter the exact IP address (with or without port number) there is also no connection.

WiFi is a TP-link Deco mesh. No device isolation, all fancy things like fast switching, beam forming, etc. are turned off.

I’m at my wits end.

I had the same issue the other using my iPad. It would not find the server even when I put the ip address in. I was able to connect by choosing Away from home and was successful.
I deleted the client app on the iPad, then redownloaded. It immediately hooked up.

Try deleting and reinstalling the app. I’m also on Synology.

Can you connect from your iPhone using Safari at http://server_ipaddress:8089

Yes, I can connect via IP address from my phone.
Yet the app on my phone cannot.

Check iOS settings maybe

@tmm1 Already had checked that. Network access is allowed.
There are no other pertinent settings that I can see.

@jagrim Tried. No luck. But thank you!

I can connect to the server via the Remote option.

Not really how I would like to use it…

What is the IP address of your Synology NAS?
What is the IP address of your iPhone when connected via WiFi?

Maybe try rebooting your server?

That, too, I have tried... :frowning:

NAS: 192.168.1.99
iPhone: 192.168.1.102

OK, I'm stumped!

It sounds like Device Isolation is enabled

But I know you said its off. And safari works, so the IPs can talk to each other. Very strange.

You can try to delete the Channels app and reinstall it.

Can you screenshot the error when you put the IP into the app?

Isolation IS off. Confirmed.
Re-downloaded the app on all devices. No change.

I just get the “Server not found” screen. With or without port number.

What is the NAS plugged into? How many Ethernet cables

Have you tried to ping the Apple/Google TV from the synology?

A single cable to the WiFi router.

Yes

Is your Channels DVR IP assigned via DHCP or manually configured? If it's manually configured, what is the network mask on you used? Is it the same as your phone was assigned?
