Instead of grouping my m3u channels by source channels dvr is putting new channels at the end. example: for frndlytv, metv is channel # 9001 but metvtoons is channel # 14318
I can see why this happens because if you have passes by Channel Numbers putting new Channels in the middle/beginning could mess up passes that record by Channel numbers. I think if you remove and re-add the source it might fix the numbers the way you want it.
that did it but now metv is 14319 when 9001 is so much easier. it would be great if I could manually assign a channel number. thanks.
When you defined the M3U did you tell it to ignore channels numbers and start with 9000 ?
Example ... mine start at 2000
that option appears broken for me. I tried deleting the source, deleting, rebuilding guide database and re adding but no luck.
Remove the source and make sure that range of Channels numbers you want is not being used by another source.
Make sure ignore channel-numbers from M3U is selected. Then you will see the option to put in a starting Channels.
tried it no dice.
oddly enough, setting it to 8000 works. must be a bug.
You might have Pluto or something else using 9000.
nothing else is at 9000. I used to have other m3u sources enabled but have long since removed them. I now have a gap in my channels from 8045 to 13302. My guess is they still exist in some unknown database somewhere but not in my guide.
The only range I do not touch is 6000's because that is TVE.
I also use tve, but I do not think that is the issue.
look at your TVE Channel numbers...
they range from 6007-6993. Again, 9000 is free
Not trying to blame anyone but I had channel 9000 using frndlytv before you told me to remove/readd it.
I think you have bigger problems if you do not have access to 9000 and no source using it ...
I think there is a bug.
Delete and recreate the guide database after deleting the m3u and before adding it back in to the 9000s
Yep. Don't know if the devs consider it a bug though.
I always Delete and Recreate the Guide database after any changes.
I cringe every time I have to do it as it reloads all guide data and hits their servers for that.
When I'm trying to get the right gracenote station id for a channel, I may do that several times in a row.
Don't know of a better way.
tried that through the web ui, no luck.
