No, thank you.
How can I get this on my Fire Cube in my bedroom, love it on my shield- not sure how to get the file to the cube
This is something I wish the oems would make easier, just copying a file to the box. A few ways come to mind. Install puffin tv browser from the play store and navigate to the filesynced website and click the link to download it's .APK. use filesynced. Or install X-Plore file manager from the play store and use it's wifi server file transfer feature, to send it from a different device. Or I remember an app called Apps2Fire, on the play store, of course, where you could install the app to fire devices from your android phone.
I guess I'm spoiled. I have a Win10 Box on the same network and simply FTP files to my mobile Android devices.
On my Shield they make it even easier with Settings >> Device Prefs >> Storage >> Transfer Files Over Local Network turned on.
On my handheld Androids I've been using FTP Server pro for 10 years at least. Simply run it and connect from my Windows box, then shut the server on the device off when done sending files.
Too lazy to search this thread to see how many times I've mentioned this before, but it is convenient as heck assuming you have a desktop box on your LAN.
AndFTP, and AndSMB are great apps for simple file transfers too.
Perfect thanks
Thanks for keeping this going! 11.7.1929 running on ShieldTV just fine.

Can we get an updated version when you get the chance.
Sure, have it up later today.

Before I try and install, what happens when an updated version is needed? WAF is important and if something "breaks" or requires having to do something different during the period awaiting updates, I'd rather not pursue.
Thanks,
Jay
If you sideload it should install as a separate instance with it's own settings etc. It works like this on Android TV, now you have me curious if it will work the same on my tablet(s).
If this colorized beta version breaks, switch over to the stable version.
[Off to test on my tablet] [edit] <--- yes, sideloads as a 2nd instance when I transferred manually to tablet and installed, unsure how it installs from the utility mentioned at the top of the thread.
The play store version is separate from this side loaded version, neither touches the other. When there's an update, it installs over the older side loaded version and you continue on.
I mentioned that because of what happened last week. I got a new Shield Pro, installed play store version, then joined beta on Play Store. I figured it wouldn't co-exist in that manner, but I had to find out.
That was when I couldn't find the beta apk for sideload, turns out I'm blind.
So the reason they can both be installed despite being the same app is the directory naming structure that's used. They have different install paths if it's from the play store or sideloaded.
Is there an easy way to see what version of the Carbon Theme is running?
Yessir, go to settings, support, about
I'll start putting the current version in the original post again.
