I check occasionally for new files... could you add the upload date where you mention Google Drive? Sometimes I can't recall the version I have, knowing the date you upped it would answer whether I have it already or not.

Well I don't like old versions hanging around, those links at the bottom of the post, not the actual post, I don't like those there. The OP will always have only one download link and it will be the lastest I have done. I'll start putting an upload date too, and thanks for using the theme!
Just got an Android TV and installed this. Awesome. I did notice that all my settings got wiped after deleting the beta and installing this. Will that happen every time I update, or does the adb install command just update it with the newer version? I'm new to Android.
Unfortunately the way it's been is you'll have to uninstall the old version to install the new version, losing favorites and preferences, and I don't know how to backup those preferences before uninstall. The way the official beta works is it doesn't get uninstalled, just overwritten. I will try to implement something like that in the future or come up with a different way.
@tmm1 is it possible to have a way to backup app settings like this? It's not just helpful to install my theme.
EDIT - I think I just thought of a way but I have to try first. Anyone familiar with titanium backup? I haven't tried it on a shield but it may work to back up user data. I'll look into this when I am able to.

Titanium Backup only worked when rooted when I used it extensively back in the crappy Android ROM era. It's been some years, perhaps it had other features that didn't affect me in my "Trying Every ROM There Was" phase 7 or 8 years ago.
Now I have to go test it. Minor OCD can be a horrible time killer!

Right, most features will need root, and I just tried it on my phone disabling root. It needs root. And same for swift backup, I denied it root, and it could restore the app but not the data without root...
Next on the list to try would be to install a terminal emulator, and try to get to the path /data/app/xxxx
Xxxx being the channels app path to try and get all the files. It always seems to be different with every installation though so that may not work either.
I'm just thinking.
So...the current version [102.19.2353.apk ] the quick guide and seek bar ui is still purple and semi transparent. (testing it out on my CCGTV)
The version I have been using with on my Shield, 102.7.6 has a nice transparent light grey, nearly clear background for those elements.
Is this a regression in recent versions...or still a work in progress/still working on that since your dump of the old things and new start?

You are referring to the mini guide and seek bar while playing a channel? I'm trying to get that like in @tobycth3 metro theme. I've even gone so far as to decompile his apk and build around, but eventually the clear guide breaks and I just need to sit down and play with it more. I really wish others could help out.
I believe you linked the 102.7.6 earlier in the thread, I can look into these, but I'm out of town, I can only test on my phone and that's a tv specific thing, so if I make any changes, care to test it @speedingcheetah ?

Yea. i can load it up and do some quick tests when i can.
And yes, the link i posted has screen shots of that app version, including the mini guide and seek bar.
I have not had any issues with things broken elsewhere in that apk version.
That is pretty much the only thing left that is needing themed, i see that gui alot more than i visit the guide page...so, i've been hanging onto that version for main use, until your never version is complete and has that aspect themed.
I guess u could message the user that made that original theme, and ask them how they changed those Ui elements color, without breaking other things.
See the reason I don't like using any old stuff is I can't get by only editing the colors, I also have to edit some parts of the layout to display a different color instead of just changing the color, and I just can't remember what I have edited in old versions, but I believe I have pinpointed the xml layouts to edit for the quick guide and playbar. Expect a DM with something within a few.
I'll try merging in what I think controls that from the old version.

Crazy idea, would a way exist to have the theme pulled from the server itself so you don't have to update the client?
To me, having the server house the themes and display a list of choices in the client settings makes more sense so you're not having to update the clients.
Just a thought.
nothing of the the GUI of the client apps reside on the sever.
All design and things are in the client app file itself.
it only loads data from the server, like guide and channel logos, and stores them in cache on the client device.
Also since channels also operates to that one can use the paid single app for live tv only, without a server....such a thing could never happen by design.
I haven't forgotten about this theme, just been all kinds of busy out of town running network drop, building racks, and walking up and down the school. Back home now, but back at my other job where I bus tables and wash dishes.
Probably gonna take a look at this tonight. At least update it. Try to use @speedingcheetah fav 102.7.6

I'm all for theming and helping where I can but there has to be a way to centralize it even if even if means a complimentary server/service the DVR client can pull from?
